DAVID FRIEDMAN | KOSMIC KABALLAH
KABBALAH-INSPIRED ART & SACRED GEOMETRY
CURATOR’S NOTESome works of art are meant to be admired. Others demand to be studied. The work of Tzfat-based artist David Friedman belongs firmly in the latter category. Working under the name Kosmic Kabbalah, Friedman translates ancient Jewish mystical concepts into extraordinary compositions of color, geometry, and fractal-like patterns. Inspired by everything from Sefer Yetzirah (Book of Creation) to the psychedelic album art of the 1960s and 70s, his work explores infinity, the Tree of Life, and the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds.
David Friedman was selected for the index because his art is as intellectually fascinating as it is visually exhilarating. There's something almost hypnotic about his use of color and form, and the longer you look, the more you discover. Hebrew letters emerge from intricate geometric arrangements. Biblical ideas unfold through layers of symbolism. What initially looks like a spectacular piece of Jewish psychedelic art becomes an invitation to contemplate some of life's biggest questions.
