THE JERUSALEM SCRIBE

SACRED SCRIBAL ART & ILLUMINATED MICROGRAPHY

A roaring lion built from fiery script. A soldier wrapped in a tallit, structured entirely out of black ink lettering. An olive tree rising from stacked passages of Torah. This is the work of Kalman Gavriel, known as The Jerusalem Scribe. As a trained sofer (sacred scribe) who studied under a mentor that taught him the deep spiritual weight of the Alef-Bet alongside technical craft, Delmoor realized he could merge his creative instinct with his love of Torah. Operating within a discipline governed by centuries of strict halachic rules, he uses traditional scribal techniques, genuine parchment, and heavy ink to turn Hebrew letterforms into living, three-dimensional compositions.

The Jerusalem Scribe was selected for the index because of the sheer physical force of his work. By combining gold leafing, deep black calligraphy, and raw calfskin parchment, Gavriel moves Jewish scribal art far beyond the scroll. His work anchors centuries of sacred tradition in a fierce, unmistakable modern presence.
